Ear Commission

 

This was a project I did where the client commisioned a pair of realistic looking ears. I cast my friends ears in alginate and poured silicone straigt into the alginate mould, as there was no sculpting required. I had a few results with obvious air bubbles, but after moving the silicone around the mould, the ears came out well. I painted them with skin illustrator, but if i'd have known about silicone paints, I would've used that method, as skin illustrator can flake off after awhile.
