Costume Shoot
This was a shoot I worked on for 2 girls from costume who were entering their work in a competition. I tried to complement the colour palettes used in each costumes with the makeup.
The first look was based on a chinese dragon, and was very theatrical, so I created a fauxhawk with the hair, and pinned in some pieces of excess fabric into the hair as well. I created a winged liner look with colours I took from the costume.
The second look was more elegant and refined, so I did a bronzed beauty makeup with dramatic smokey brown eyes. I created dewy, bronzed skin and added some copper leaf to the temples. For the hair, I tried to create a similar texture to that in the garment to create harmony with the hair and costume.

I didn't really consider at the time that the photos would be full length and so you wouldn't see the finer details of the hair and makeup from far away. I feel like I could have made the makeup for the first look a lot more dramatic which would have made the overall look more effective. I will bear this in mind for future shoots, as distance makes a difference.
